Tonights scouting...
« on: July 28, 2008, 11:08:11 PM »
Went to snoqualmie for a bit of bear scouting today...

Took this snap shot:

And I thought this was pretty....

Get to the top of this one hill...stop to grab a drink, and I cough slightly...figured anything would be aware i was here now...walk about ten feet and then the brush is moving (less than 20 yards) and I swear I just saw a salmon berry go flying...

I set my rifle down and break out the camera...still somthing is moving in the short brush..start to film and get this (try to watch it in High Quality Option...otherwise it is very hard to see) Only need to watch the first 15 seconds of the video..he is gone after that...you can just see the head in the center of the screen.

The wind was blowing right to left, toward the bear, he stood up and winded me, then bolted. He wasnt very big (4 1/2- 5 ft tall my guess)...

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="
hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="
hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

I then realize what I thought was a salmon berry was in fact a piece of a stump he was tearing into...

Then saw some coug sign...not far from where I saw tracks earlier this year...

Thats all folks!

LOL....sorry for the crappy youtube video...you can really only see the bear if you look at it on high quality...for that you have to go to the youtube site...my brother complained saying he couldnt see it..so i thought i would clarify to others...

I wouldnt be able to see it either if i didnt know where to look, its so grainy.
